It’s no secret that Google is King when it comes to internet searches. “Google remains the most used search engine in the world, far outdistancing competitors. It’s hard to imagine, but Google handles 114.73 billion requests every month for a 65.2 percent market share. China’s Baidu is next, with Yahoo, Bing and Yandex following behind.

Why is this important?

Because according to AutoTrader.com’s 2015 Automotive Buyer Influence Study, 72% of recent car buyers reported that they purchased the vehicle they had in mind before they first visited the dealership. And they made that decision “based on their shopping time online- a whopping 77% spent 12.7 hours online.”

Jared Rowe, President of AutoTrader.com went on to say that “The more information and transparency we, as an industry, can provide online, the easier it will be to help car shoppers turn into buyers.”

“Google uses sophisticated text-matching techniques to display pages that are both important and relevant to each search.” Webmasters call this the elusive algorithm. But Google’s own support site lists tips to help web designers rank higher, not lower, so they have better results. Google understands that some website creators and marketers will try to fool their algorithm, but Google explains they have systems which can distinguish between Natural links and unnatural links in place. If you’re not sure what that means, it has to do with how pages are “weighted” and how well they link to other sites. (Basically- they’re important.) Google recognizes when faulty doorway pages (link schemes to get visitors to land somewhere else) occur.

So if you want to make sure your site is indexed high and ranked well, you won’t want to fall prey to marketers who tell you they can fill your site with lists of SEO keywords to get you better optimization. Especially if those words are just fillers and have nothing to do with the context in your site.

This could actually get your site ignored as Google considers those links and pages deceptive if they don’t deliver what is promised.

Google states: “Some companies claim to ‘guarantee’ high ranking for your site in Google’s search results. While legitimate consulting firms can improve your site’s flow and content, others employ deceptive tactics in an attempt to fool search engines. Be careful; if your domain is affiliated with one of these deceptive services, it could be banned from our index.”

JVS is a legitimate, full-service marketing agency and consulting firm. When you work with quality designers who know how to promote properly, your site won’t be banned!

So, how are your dealership rankings? Could your website be blacklisted without you even knowing it? Do you believe that your images and graphics look great and yet don’t understand why when you type in the words in Google’s search box, your ad, banner or site doesn’t appear?

Did you know that if your image holds important names, content or links, Google’s crawler won’t recognize text contained in graphics?

JVS Marketing knows this.

And we know how to help make sure you avoid common mistakes that could be pulling your site down or even off the Google engine.

JVS Marketing recognizes how important Google is to our dealerships.

Because JVS is the leading Marketing Expert in Dealership websites; they know what not to do…and more importantly what to do.

Google’s main tip to having a Google-friendly site is “to provide high-quality content on your pages, especially your homepage. This is the single most important thing to do. If your pages contain useful information, their content will attract many visitors and entice webmasters to link to your site.”

Ask yourself these questions?

Do you provide online visitors with vehicle information that will help them make an informed decision?

Or… do you have a website that simple touts your own dealership with little specifics about the actual vehicles you sell?

Do you have a VDP page so that a potential buyer can browse your site for vehicle specs and even read reviews about it? If not you should, because if they start searching on your site and can’t find it, they’ll go to other sites and they may never come back to yours.

Many dealerships assume when someone does a search and ends up on their site, it’s because they wanted to shop at their location.

Most of the time, this isn’t the case.

They could have Googled the words “Nissan Sentra” and your location was the closest to their IP address so your dealership came up. But if all you have are price points announcing that the 2016 Nissan Sentras are now in your showroom, but fail to offer a page that shows various trim colors, accessories, options and reviews, you could lose them as they go search for those stats at sites like edmunds.com or NADA.

Don’t make them look elsewhere! Keep them on your site. If the average person is spending 12.2 hours online looking for car facts- make sure you offer all the research and resources they need without going elsewhere.

They aren’t spending those hours to decide if they want to buy from you; they are spending those hours deciding what to buy.

If you are the one who gives them all the answers, they’re more likely to trust your dealership when it’s time to walk in the front door.

JVS Marketing helps you open that door!

JVS marketing has helped propel an Acura Dealer to be #1 IN THE WORLD for 12 years running. They can successfully rocket your dealership to the next level as well.

JVS accomplishes this by informing clients how to maximize their website and use marketing automation software that will turn all those “tire-kickers” into buyers. Each visitor to a website leaves a digital footprint. With the proper software in place, you can not only know what page they visited on your site and how long they stayed, but have access to information like their name, their IP address, home address, their social media sites and even the friends of their friends on facebook.

Yes, it’s unbelievable but true. Your dealership can have access to all that information from a simple Google search that landed them on your page… if you have the right marketing program in place on your website.

Imagine the money you save from “spraying and praying” with ineffective marketing ploys that don’t target your buyers specifically.

JVS Marketing knows how to effectively generate lead-nurturing strategies so your salespeople are not “cold-calling” anymore.
